This is my latest Blog template design! Its so fun and PINK!!! The artist's name is Jasmine Becket-Griffith aka Strangeling and I was able to use her work by purchasing an artist's package at CILM. I am currently awaiting my CILM License Number to arrive from the customer service department and will update the blog as soon as its received.
Jasmine is a remarkable artist and her work is even more beautiful in person! I have several of her original works as she sells them on Ebay to the public. She also has an ETSY store filled with prints and her own handmade JEWELRY! Yes, yes, I said JEWELRY!!! Jasmine's wonderful husband Matt assists her in her work by creating one of a kind framed originals with beautiful detailing and meticulous craftsmanship. They are an awesome and wonderful team!

New Year's Early Resolution #1
I am gonna learn to crochet! Mainly cause I wanna do all this awesome amigurumi projects I admit!!! ::hehe:: Amigurumi means “knitted or crocheted doll” in Japanese. They're the simplest of simple, worked in the round in single crochet. Though I only know one stitch, it would be awesome to read and understand the patterns too!
Lookie what a great find I found on Etsy!!! His creator is named RichmondArt on ETSY and his listing is right HERE
for you to go and visit or purchase him.
I have also found a great number of these crocheted patterns on RAVELRY too.. so if you are a member, hop on over and check out. One I am itching to try after my lil sackboy are these adorable flames!!!
They are by a renowned Amigurimi designer, Roxycraft and
can be purchased and found on her site or on Ravelry, but
whereever you find her designs you know they will be whimsical and unbearably cute!!!
So I hope you are going to try new and exciting crafts this year too!

More Cowls?
Cowls, cowls, and more ... you guessed it cowls! Boy it has been some crazy knitting over here, but ya know what? I'm not finished!!!! I still have enough of a stash to keep knitting for a while yet. ::heh::
Oh I love this colorway of pinks and purples, too bad the company is no longer in business... ::sniff:: Bye Bye Needful Yarns. ::waves:: I combined it with a black based wool in worsted weight, added a purple metallic yarn, casted on 56 stitches on #15's and in two hours or less, not sure cause I was listening to an audiobook.. it was done! I wore it on our Balloon ride today!

Crafty Christmas!
Its a Crafty Christmas this year!!!
So this is it! I found these great stones at a local bead store and I could not help but snag them and create something for my SIL. She can wear so many colors with her skin tone its unfair, but then again we all love her!
It did not take me long to make and it was so very very easy. I hope she likes them!

Tuesday Releases - 12/02/08
Eating through two books in one evening is a bit tough, especially so when you do not get home until 8pm. Needless to say, once I started to read Zen and the Art of Vampires, I could not put it down. Pia, the mc (main character) was fun, witty, and down right charming! She had me laughing with all her inappropriate bursts of saying what she didn't mean to say. Kristoff and Alec, all I can say is wowsers and where is my Dark One now!!!
My main frustration though is not in the writing or the characters, but in the story! The other Dark Ones novels end finitely within their own respective books, this one though, seems to drag onto at least one more... gah.. I will pull my hair out if its more than that! I want to know the end of 'their' story and I want it now... not to wait until May to find out.
Granted I understand it in other series.. but at least you are told up front by the author's styles if that is where they are going to take you. While there is some cross visiting from other characters briefly from other books, this one is gonna make you wait. ::le sigh:: Is it May yet?!
Second of the 'Tales of an Urban Werewolf' series, it truly delivers a great time with Sophie Garou and all of her lost designer shoes, clothing, and unlimited supply of Lady Bic razors.
Sophie has been found in the Houston packs territory and while she has been there for years and years, now the pack knows she is there. Dealing with them is just one of the situations she finds herself dealing with not to mention an uber-hottie by the name of Mark, who just happens to be the president of her newest and biggest auditing account. His sweet smoky scent drives her nuts, but what about her BF Heath? What about Tom?! Her life and your nerves run a rollercoaster ride of adrenalin to see what is going to happen next!
I give them both a FIVE on my Sheep-A-Meter!!!

THE PARROT!
A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary.
Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute.
Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly open the door to the freezer, the parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said, "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."
John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"
I received this in the mail and made me laugh so very much!!! I hope it did for you too!

ACK! Time has flown!!!
So sorry for the lapse in writing. I have been camera-less for the past few weeks, because I can not find the cord to download pictures onto my computer. Worse, I have to have the hubby dl them, put them on a thumb drive and then load them... le sigh!
I did not want my posts to be pictureless.. so I waited and waited and waited and waited! Finally I said to myself, "To heck with this!" and as of tonight will start to post again. Filling in later with pictures of stuff which has already happened and stuff I want to do. ::grin::
Let's see... what has happened?
LETTERBOXING!!!
I have not started it persay.... but I did find the materials needed to make a stamp, purchased the carving tools and rubber medium, and also purchased some E6000 glue along with plain wooden blocks to glue the stamps to.
In this endeavor, I took the hubby to a local privately owned coffee shop here in Orlando which was supposed to sport a hidden letterbox, alas everywhere we looked we could not find the bugger! Not to say its not there, BUT we could not locate it. So I will have to go back again when I have our stamps made and really tear the place apart. ::hehe::
2008 BOOKLIST!
I need to enter the books read/listened to for the months of September and October. I really did not read much in October to tell the truth because I was horrible sick and nothing was coming out at all!!!! Granted that did not stop me from finding a few new authors... but really knitting was my focus!
KNITTING!!!
Gosh.... for the very first time... Christmas knitting has reared its ugly head in my stash, time, and pattern collecting. Three cowls down, one more on the needles... two bounce hats, one on the needles... I have some gorgeous yarn from YarnPirate, Duet Yarns, and some sweeeeet knitting bags from GoodtobeGirl! (Again... pics are a hassle because of the missing cord, but I hope to post them very soon!
Lastly for this blog! The newest pattern from MochiMochiland.com ..... ELVES!!! Anna is so awesome, she even created Christmas Gift Tags that can be downloaded and printed for holiday giving... and when I get paid next week her ELVES pattern shall be mine mine mine!

Knitting Project Bag Club!
Remember when I told you that I joined GoodtobeGirl's Project Bag Summer/Winter Bag sale? Well, I finally was able to download the pictures I have taken of most of my knitting projects as well as the first bag, which arrived in September!
The stitch markers were so very very cute! A tiny pumpkin and donut in a tiny metal tin. BUT that is not all... you see I had also been/am a member of the Loopy Ewe Sock Club and in one of my previous kits, GoodToBeGirl had made markers for them too... in the same pumpkin/donut way!!!
Yep! I have a full 4 piece set of matching stitch markers!!!
I have already started to use them. I love love love them so very much.
Oh I almost forgot to tell you, on Ravelry is a GoodToBeGirl group. I actually posted recently how I have a full set with the bag and SM'ers... that Amy wrote to me and wanted to send me a second set of SM'ers because she totally forgot about the Loopy Ewe kit. How awesome is she to make an offer like this?! I know... really really awesome, but I could not do it. I love my set and do not want to have her feeling like she upset or disappointed me. So I wrote back and let her know it wasn't necessary. She is so sweet.
Okies.. lots more to write about and post! Talk a bunch more later!

From Anne of MochiMochiland.com... he is so incredibly cute that I need to make him as big as possible!!! So I went out and got the chunkiest yarn I could in some great colors and will be knitting him fast and furious as possible.

So Much Stuff!!!
I have been doing so many things lately its hard to keep track, let alone make sure to Blog about them!
Working on a Hemlockring Throw that is coming out gorgeous in Malabrigo's worsted weight in the colorway of Violetas. Can you say, "SMOOSHY!" I thought you could!
Next, reading has been on short supply because many of my favorite authors don't have anything being released soon, except for a few here or there. I shall be updating my Book Challenge post very very soon.
Finally, I have been spending money, which I need to stop very soon, as the hubby and I wish to take a cruise next year during Spring Break with my family. So yarn clubs are going to have to be deminished soon or not renewed. ::sniff, le sigh::
Much more later!

Woot for new series!!!
I just love to get involved in a series which already has a few books under its belt. I normally walk in at the beginning of a string of books and have to wait FOREVER for the installments, which I am sure happens to so many of us. But every once in a while I walk into a series which I have missed and am so stoked to find there are at least 3-4 to gobble up at once.... with perhaps a new one out soon.
Thus is the case with author Jennifer Rardin series featuring Jaz Parks. A totally new kick ass heroine who has a world of new and interesting vampires, magic, and techie-geeks. One thing I did differently when purchasing the first book, Once Bitten, Twice Shy. I only bought the one. I held off on the others just to make sure I did like it. Last year I decided to try a new author and bought the first five books of her series and couldn't get through the first one at all. Now I am stuck with the books.. le sigh. Orlando do not have any really good trade-in book stores around. ::eesh::
Anyway! ?I found them to be refreshing and attention grabbing. Ate this one down within three hours and even now am attempting NOT to go back to Borders (10:25 pm) to buy the second and third installments. The fourth book is due out in August! ::Wooot::
So go. Go now! And buy this series!

YARN P*RN!
Lookie what I just brought and it has arrived! Its from Jennifer Schermerhorn of ~Whirled Yarn~ and is called 'Charmed I'm Sure'. It is so totally drool worthy! I can not wait to find the PERFECT project for it. Its Wool/Plush Hearts 60yds/180ft. So enough to be dangerous, but not enough to do a whole long scarf, so it has to be something special. Jennifer even included a card that has a gorgeous print of the yarn on the top, so you can give it as part of a gift if I was going to give it away. Which I'm not! ::hehe:: Cause I am greedy like that!

Domokun Peekaboo Mittens
HA! Finally got a picture of the Domokun Peekaboo Mittens I made for my sister. Yes, they were my first mittens and boy are there some booboo's on them, like one is slightly bigger than the other, the slit for the fingers to peek out is lower in the hand than where I would like it, but all-in-all she loves them, so that is what counts.
::hehe::

Black Cherry Peekaboo Mittens
YEAH! I finished my second pair of Peekaboo mittens as well as designed the double stitch cherries on top! I also had to edit the Peekaboo Mittens pattern from MagKnits.com to better fit my hand and silly artificial nails. Using the regular pattern to follow, I simply increased a few rows in the Base of the Hand as well as the Mitten top. So to abbreviate it a bit.
Base of hand:
Work even for 12 rows to about 0.5" [1 cm] below top of palm. On last rnd, place finger markers as follows: K 24 (27), pm, k12 (16), pm, k to end.
Work the finger opening the same as the pattern.
Mitten top:
Work 10 rows removing finger markers in process. Distribute sts evenly on 4 needles.
Then start the decreasing for the mitten top.
Using Cascade 220 Black for the mitten, I then graphed the cherries I wanted to double stitch onto the fabric. With a white piece of yarn I ran a guideline to help me coorodinate the placement of the design. Wallah! Black Cherry Peekaboo Mittens!

Irish Hiking Wrist Warmers 2
I just love love love this pattern, that I can't stop making them. I worked and completed a pair for my mother who is a postal carrier. They are in navy and a light grey and are so cute! Going to wait to seam them up so that I can make sure they are a perfect fit for her, when I go home this weekend to visit.
You have got to make a pair! http://www.wineandneedles.blogspost.com/

Irish Hiking Wrist Warmers
I love this pattern! Gonna do another pair tomorrow. They were quick, easy, and they fit so well!
This will be great for my mom who is a postal carrier, but I think I will need to find a more durable fiber as I am sure she is going to have to wash them often and 100% wool will not hold up to the constant washing and drying.. Superwash here I come!

Happy 2008!!!
Dear Friends,
The happiest and best warm wishes to you and yours for this new year! May your needles be fruitful and your life exciting. Most of all happiness and health to you all!!!
In answer to this, I myself am undertaking a new and never before done diet for myself. I can't harp on others in my family for not taking care of themselves, when I myself need to do so too. Sooooo... as of Thursday, well it actually started before that, more like Christmas, I have purchased a good set of walking shoes, an Nike+ kit, a small new ipod nano to use with the Nike+ kit, some actual working out clothes and a bunch of food.
If you want to know what a Nike+ kit is.. go here.. http://nikeplus.nike.com/nikeplus/#tutorials and check it out. It is so awesome! You do not need their shoes, I bought a pouch from Marware via Amazon... http://www.marware.com/PRODUCTS is their main website.
Granted I am walking and not running, not yet or maybe not ever, but still, getting out of the house for a good 20 mins cardio is still less time then on my arse in front of the computer. ::hehe::
If you are Lime and Violet fans like me, you will know what Letterboxing is... well I hope to start to do that soon too as soon I as I design my stamp and get a plan together.
Finally, I have challenged myself to see how many books I can read for the year. Yes, most of them will be romance/paranormal ones, but then again I may surprise you. Currently next to my bed is 'You Living Longer'. Very interesting and chuck full of stuff I never knew.
Well I shall be writing more of my exercise and fitness routine as well as my knitting and reading goals for 2008.
Bless you all!
