Cats and Toys

On the Lime N Violet message boards we have some pretty awesome people. Notme from the boards sent me some hand knitted cat toys in exchange for some marshmellow Peeps during the Easter season. I have some pics of my kitties and their appreciation of her gifts! I do apologize to her from the lateness of my posting.

Aggie is such a ham! Can you see in the first pick her tongue is wayyyy out? I almost died laughing when I saw the picture up close. Thank you again so very much Notme!

My SP10 Package has arrived!

Isn't it awesome?! My partner has not revealed herself as of yet, but she left me some clues with postcards from Michigan. Who knew there were that many lighthouses up there! I only know of one in Florida and that is in St. Augustine. ::blink blink::

Anyhows, stare at the Fiberlicousness that is my package, I will let you. Just do not lick your monitor, it doesn't like that. ::shakes head::

She gave to me a Louet Drop Spindle Kit! Squeee! It has three awesome fibers to spin and a drop spindle with an instruction booklet inside. My SP10 partner also gave to me 'Spin to Knit', a book I have not found anywhere at my local bookstores. There is a bag with several hanks of deep red cranberry beads to go with... a skein of 100% Baby Merino Wool by Malabrigo in the Velvetgrapes colorway! I can not even being to describe the squishiness of this yarn. The feel is just about indescribeable! And if that was not enough she sent me an awesome bar of soap by Esscentia, DESIRE, Witches Brew Fragrance Oil. I just want to put it in my pillow and leave it there so I can smell its heady scent.

My partner has spoiled me beyond my dreams and I sincerely sincerely thank her from the bottom of my heart. I can not wait to find out who she is. I will be sending her a private note of thanks tonight, but not only did I want to share with you who may drop in about her generosity, but because its also required by SP10 rules too. ::hehe::

If you will excuse me a bit ladies and gents, I am off to fondle my malabrigo a bit more and dream of what it shall become one day soon!

Have a great evening and sweet dreams!!!

Me? A High Priestess?

Welp, while doing some surfing this eve, I found this website that when answering a few questions, gives you a tarot card which is 'supposed' to represent you based on your answers. Well as a High Priestess, I say, give me more yarn! Channeling Yul Brenner from the Ten Commandments, "So let it be written, so let it be done!" ::hehe::

You are The High Priestess

Science, Wisdom, Knowledge, Education.

The High Priestess is the card of knowledge, instinctual, supernatural, secret knowledge. She holds scrolls of arcane information that she might, or might not reveal to you. The moon crown on her head as well as the crescent by her foot indicates her willingness to illuminate what you otherwise might not see, reveal the secrets you need to know. The High Priestess is also associated with the moon however and can also indicate change or fluxuation, particularily when it comes to your moods.

Victorian Cabled Wristlets

I was in my LYS yesterday, purchasing yarn for my SP10 partner's package when I spotted this delicious new yarn called Wisdom Yarns, Poems. Its 100% wool and made in Turkey. This is colorway 554. Its so sad that it doesn't have a 'proper' name, just a colorway number, but it reminds me of a juicy melon salad.

The pattern is from Pretending Sanity by Allison Blevins. She has written other knitting patterns that are cute and full of whimsy. You should check her out.

Note: 5/22/07 Finished the wristlets! ::whoo hoo::

The Loopy Ewe Sock Club

YEAH! My first package arrived and I can not wait to cake it up and get started. The yarn is so so so very soft and I love the little lamb soap! I am so totally going to make that Kool-Aid too. ::nods::

The Loopy Ewe is owned by Sheri, a truly awesome lady and a great person. Sheri has proven time and again to not only me, but other Lime N Violet people how much customer service means to her and treats us all like we are close friends.

I am one of the lucky few, actually I think there are like 150 of us in the club, to receive 4 exclusive sock club packages through out the year. One every other month. If the first package is any indication of what is to come, I am already twitching for the next. ::nods nods::

She even wrote a cute poem...

Roses are red
Violets are blue
We'd like to hand-write
a note to thank you.

But the mailman is waiting
(we know you are, too!)
and the boxes need shipping
(we have quiet a few)

So we wrote this lame poem
and now we must git,
but we sure hope you like
your Summer Sock Kit.
<3 Sheri

Isn't that the cutest?! Sheri normally places a hand-written thank you with each of my purchases, but with 150 of them to go.. I would have automated it a bit too! Off to stare at my newest sock yarn

SP10 and other crafty stuff

I have not made any crafty stuff in several weeks. My FIL and hubby are both in the hospital and it has kept us (me & MIL) both very busy.

These are a few of the things that are going to be in my SP10 package going out this weekend. This is her big big package and I hope she likes it! I have tried to write to her at least every two weeks and have sent two presents so far. One was a subscription to Adorn magazine and the other was full of all sorts of cute sheep. This does not includes the emails, e-cards, puzzles, and games as well.

This package is going to be of yarn, books, hand made items, and a few other surprises. A pink/black/white row counter bracelet, (blue/grey) DPN holder that can hold up to 3-4 #6 needles, and a (mouse/yellow) DPN holder that can hold four #0-#2 needles or a single DPN.

I really like how the dpn holders came out and am going to be experimenting a bit on them for color and diversity.

The SP10 swap seems to be going well on its own, but to be honest I thought there was going to be more participation as a whole too. I thought there were going to be projects, themes, challenges by the 'hosts'. This is becoming just a long long swap.

I think one swap host out of the eight had a contest going. The rest have been quiet. My own SP10 partner has written me three times since March. Believe me I know that RL can creep up on you and throw you a bunch of curve balls, I had just hoped for something more... ::ponders:: more involved. Its hard to make a new friend when you never hear from them.
