Death of the Doughboy

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch.

The grave site was piled high with flours. Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he still was a crusty old man and considered a positive roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife Play-Dough, two children, John Dough and Jane Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart. The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

Mitered Squares

YEAH! Took a class on mitered squares at the LYS. It was an early bday gift to myself. Had a great time and got some super squish bulky yarn to make a 'CLEAVES' from Knitty. ::woot woot::

Book List for 2007

I read a lot. I mean a lot a lot! Perhaps it may not be someone's list of the most intellectual stuff, for I definately am not an English Major or anything. What I like is romance novels, for the past couple of years it has been paranormal romance/whodunits. I also enjoy scifi and lately detective novels.

So I am going to make a list of my reading. and shall update it as new books are consumed. That's right, I eat my way through books and it has to be in the order they were published. Drives me crazy to read them out of order.

So I shall amend this post as needed. Perhaps you may even find one or two that may interest you.

Outted!

I called my sister the other day to please send out half of my SP10 pal package from Tampa. I accidently left it there the previous weekend. She runs and grabs the skein of yarn from the LYS (I needed one more color, which isn't sold here in Orlando), gets the package from my mother's home, and then puts it in the mail for me.

I love her to death for doing this for me, but then she accidently outs me to my pal. She places 'from Wierdlings' on the package not understanding its a secret swap. ::facepalm:: ::le sigh::

My partner is Kathy from http://breadandcirculars.blogspot.com/. She is an awesome lady and so far has received my package from my sister. My other package was sent the next day, so she should have received it Saturday or tomorrow, Monday.

I really do hope she likes all of her goodies and that we can stay in touch.
